Project

OU Physics & Astronomy Lab (Lin Hall)

Lin Hall, a 54,600 SF, three story building on the University of Oklahoma campus in Norman, provides state-of-the-art laboratory spaces as well as offices, classrooms, and support spaces for the science department. Designed to allow for scientific advances well in the future, this building will play a pivotal role in the evolution of OU’s Physics and Astronomy department.

Entegrity provided LEED consulting services and building envelope commissioning to assist in the project’s achievement of LEED v3 Silver for New Construction. The project team achieved over 90% reduction in construction waste both from the vast demolition of the site’s former building as well as new construction. The implemented sustainable design features include low-flow water fixtures and motion-sensing metered faucets, resulting in a 35% reduction in building water use. The building also utilizes off-site renewable sources (wind power) for at least 35% of its electricity usage and counted this energy offset toward LEED’s Green Power Credit.
