ENTEGRITY HELPS MISSION-CRITICAL FACILITY ACHIEVE LEED CERTIFICATION

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Entegrity recently helped a mission-critical industrial facility for a global shipping company achieve LEED v4 Certified status through a comprehensive approach to sustainability, energy performance, and building quality.

Completed in 2026, the approximately 58,000-square-foot facility was designed to strengthen operational resilience by housing backup power generation equipment capable of maintaining uninterrupted operations during utility outages. The building is designed to provide 10 megawatts of backup power for each of four utility circuits, with redundant generators that ensure full backup capacity even when a generator is offline for maintenance or in the event of equipment failure. In addition to the generator systems, the facility includes a central control room, support offices, and specialized mechanical systems that support reliable, around-the-clock operation. Entegrity provided sustainability consulting, energy modeling, fundamental and enhanced commissioning, indoor air quality testing, and building envelope commissioning throughout the project.

Despite its highly specialized function, the project incorporated numerous sustainable design strategies that contributed to LEED certification. Constructed on a previously developed site, the facility improved modeled energy performance by 27% compared to a baseline building while reducing projected annual energy costs by more than $20,000. More than 87% of construction waste was diverted from landfills, 35% indoor water savings were achieved through high-efficiency plumbing fixtures, and over 27% of building materials contained recycled content. The project also features all-LED lighting, low-emitting interior materials that promote healthier indoor air quality, and infrastructure to support future electric vehicle charging.

“Critical infrastructure facilities are often judged solely by their reliability,” said Entegrity’s Jessica Steele. “This project demonstrates that resilience and sustainability can work together. Through thoughtful design and rigorous commissioning, owners can improve efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and deliver the dependable performance these facilities require.”
