To mark Earth Day, The Jones Center celebrated a major milestone with a “Flip the Switch” event, recognizing the activation of a new solar energy system designed to support its campus operations for decades to come.
Developed in partnership with Entegrity Energy Partners, the 3.16 MW DC solar array is expected to generate more than 5.4 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, helping support the Jones Center’s ongoing energy needs while providing long-term cost stability.
Delivered through a Solar Services Agreement (SSA), the project allows the Jones Center to benefit from solar energy without upfront capital investment. Under this model, Entegrity owns, operates, and maintains the system, while the Jones Center purchases the energy it produces at a predictable rate.
Located in Nashville, Arkansas, the system was designed to provide long-term protection against rising utility costs—freeing up resources that can be reinvested into the programs, spaces, and services that have made the Jones Center a cornerstone of the Northwest Arkansas community for nearly 30 years.
“We’re excited to see this project come online and begin supporting the Jones Center’s mission,” said Flint Richter, Business Development Executive at Entegrity. “The goal was to create a long-term energy strategy that helps manage utility costs while allowing the organization to continue investing in the community.”
“For nearly 30 years, the Jones Center has focused on providing accessible programs and spaces that bring our community together,” said Chris Sooter, Chief Financial Officer for the Jones Center. “This project strengthens our long-term financial sustainability and allows us to focus more of our resources on the programs and services our visitors rely on.”
The Earth Day event brought together staff, partners, and community members to celebrate the milestone and the long-term impact it represents.
