Phillips County Partners with Entegrity to Celebrate Local Solar Generation

Helena-West Helena, Ark., April 19, 2023 – Phillips County, located in eastern Arkansas, celebrated its newly constructed solar array with a “Flip the Switch” ceremony, signaling to the community that the county is now offsetting traditional energy consumption methods with sustainably-generated power.

The 250-kW array will generate $46,000 in yearly savings for the County and produce enough energy to offset much of the electric utility consumption for the Phillips County courthouse, health department, and newly opened multi-agency justice complex, which houses the Phillips County Sheriff and Helena-West Helena Police operations.

The solar array, located near the justice complex in Helena, is one component of the turnkey solution that Little Rock-based Entegrity Partners put together, which also called for upgrading to more efficient lighting.

Judge Clark Hall commented on the project “Phillips County is proud to be engaged in using renewable energy sources to offset the County’s carbon footprint. We are excited this project will save taxpayers while improving the sustainability of our operations.”

This portion of the county’s expansion into sustainable energy ownership will result in a carbon offset equivalent to powering 44 homes for a year or, alternatively, carbon emissions equal to the annual carbon dioxide absorption ability of 420 acres of US Forest land (about half the area of Central Park in New York City).
