ENERGY EFFICIENCY IMPROVEMENTS
NET ZERO ENERGY (NZE)
Net Zero Energy Buildings produce as much energy as they use annually. To reach this goal, we first increase the building’s energy efficiency and then offset the remaining needs with renewable solar energy.
Our Net Zero Energy process begins with establishing the target Energy Use Intensity (EUI), which indicates the energy efficiency of a building’s design and operations. Next, we define the constraints of the facilities such as existing conditions, comfort requirements, and equipment needs. We design the project using in-depth building modeling to right-size equipment and lower first costs. After installing the energy conservation measures, we test and commission the enclosures and systems. We then compare the building’s operational performance against our models and the history of the facility to make sure the systems are performing as intended. Only after gathering all this information of the building’s increased efficiency does renewable energy come into play to offset the rest of the energy consumption. Last, we monitor all systems to ensure usage and production remain balanced.
BENEFITS OF NET ZERO ENERGY
Net Zero Energy facilities combine the excitement of solar with the stability of a more resilient building with reduced operational risk. By controlling operating costs and stabilizing energy expenses, the Entegrity approach is key to improving financial performance. We balance energy performance with sustainability and the unique opportunity to positively impact employee productivity and retention by focusing on occupant experience, health, and well-being.
