Subiaco Abbey & Academy partnered with Entegrity Energy Partners to implement a large-scale solar energy project that significantly reduces operational energy costs while reinforcing the Abbey’s long-standing commitment to self-sufficiency and environmental stewardship. Established in 1878, Subiaco Abbey has prioritized sustainability as part of its mission, making solar energy a natural fit for its campus.

The privately funded project delivers substantial long-term savings while also serving as a hands-on educational resource for students at Subiaco Academy.

SCOPE

The completed project included the design and installation of an innovative solar tracking system optimized for high energy production and efficient land use:

• Solar Array: Installation of a 2,784-module solar tracking array spanning 6.45 acres.

• Energy Production & Offset: The system offsets approximately 95% of the Abbey’s total energy needs, significantly reducing reliance on utility-supplied electricity.

• Tracking Technology: Single-axis solar tracking follows the sun’s path throughout the day, maximizing annual energy production while minimizing the land footprint.

• Educational Integration: The solar array supports Subiaco Academy’s STEM curriculum, providing students with real-world exposure to renewable energy systems.
