The Bryant High School Addition was awarded Silver level of certification through the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). Completed in 2012, the new addition is the third building in the Bryant School District to achieve LEED certification.
Once a K-12 campus, the now high school campus contains 26 buildings that sit on 40 acres of land. After demolition of the most inefficient buildings on the campus, the new 118,288 square foot LEED certified building was constructed and is home to 30 classrooms, an administrative suite of offices, art rooms, business labs, and large media rooms available for professional development and community meetings. Located in the original older part of Bryant, the new LEED certified high school will ensure that the original part of town is revitalized for the future.
The facility contains natural daylighting, energy efficient mechanical equipment, smart classrooms, sustainable lighting, optimal ventilation systems for high quality indoor air, and an interactive energy education kiosk that will be utilized to educate the public about the green features and savings in the building.
The addition to the Bryant High School campus was designed by Jackson Brown Palculict Architects and constructed by James Cone Construction. Entegrity provided LEED Consulting, Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning, Indoor Air Quality Testing, Measurement and Verification, Daylight Testing, and Building Envelope Commissioning.
